Microsoft PC Health Check for Windows 11 compatibility re-launched

On 27th August, 2021, Microsoft re-launched the PC Health Check for Windows 11 compatibility. The app will check your system configuration, and confirm if the computer system can be upgraded to Windows 11 or not. Running the PC Health Check app is a straightforward process. Let us see how you could run and confirm if your PC is compatible for Windows 11 upgrade.

Pre-requisites before downloading the PC Health Check App


There are 2 pre-requisites before you can download PC Health Check App from the Microsoft website. The first is that you need a Microsoft account. Most registered customers of Windows 10, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 will already have a working Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can get one without any hassles by registering on the Microsoft website.

Once you have the account, you will need to enroll for the Windows Insider Program. This program is intended for developers. Since the PC Health Check App has been made available by Microsoft in the Windows Insider program, we need to subscribe to the developer oriented Windows insider program. At this point, you should be a registered Microsoft user with access to Windows Insider Program.

Download the PC Health Check App


We suggest that you should download the PC Health Check App from the Microsoft site. Avoid downloading the app from another site. You can download the PC Health Check App directly from the following link – https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windowsinsiderpreviewpchealth

Notice that the page states you must download the correct version of PC Health Check App. There are two downloadable versions on the app page.

One is for the 32 bit operating systems and the other is for 64 bit operating systems. Check your PC’s operating system’s bit configuration by going to

This will take you to ‘About your PC’ screen. Look for the operating system details therein. You will see something like the screen shot below:

Once you have downloaded the app, run the app on your system to check system’s compatibility for Windows 11. In less than a minute, you will have result of the PC Health Check app’s execution on your computer system. My system is compatible with Windows 11 upgrade, and therefore, I see the result that can be represented as a screen capture showed below:

The entire process took me less than 5 minutes, and I do not have to depend on anything else to know if my PC is compatible with the Windows 11 upgrade.
