My Ryzen 7 processor is not compatible with Windows 11
If your Ryzen 7 processor’s series or name is not in the list of compatible processors above, it is safe to presume that your computer is not compatible with Windows 11 operating system.
In normal course of things, you can continue to use your old operating system. However, if you are using Windows 10 on a Ryzen 7 computer, you ought to be aware of the upcoming EOL or end of life status of Windows 10 operating system.
Windows 10 becomes end of life in October 2025. After October 2025, security updates for Windows 10 will not be released under the normal ‘Patch Tuesday’ schedule.
This leaves Windows 10 users with limited options (assuming the system is incompatible with Windows 11).
- You could choose to buy Extended Security Updates for Windows 10. These can be bought from Microsoft for a period between 1 to 3 years. With a valid ESU subscription, you can apply extended security updates to Windows 10 every month.
- The other option is to continue running Windows 10 without security updates. This poses considerable risk to your computer’s operating system, software and user data. It is definitely not a recommended alternative for business computers.
Running Windows 11 on incompatible computers
It is technically possible to install Windows 11 on incompatible systems. Microsoft has made it possible to alter the registry and bypass compatibility checks on an incompatible PC.
However, we do not recommend installing Windows 11 on incompatible Ryzen 7 computers because of the following reasons:
- Your computer will not get any Windows 11 security updates.
- There is a high possibility of system malfunction if you install Windows 11 on incompatible systems.
