How to manually restart Google Pixel Watch?

Google Pixel watch can be manually restarted using the side key and the crown button on the side simultaneously for 10 to 15 seconds. Restarting the Google Pixel watch forcefully may be needed if the watch is non-responsive.

Or, if the Pixel watch has frozen for some reason, you may need to force restart it using the buttons on the watch body.

To restart the Google Pixel Watch manually, please follow the instructions below:

  • We need to be aware of the side button and the crown button on the Google Pixel Watch. The crown button is, normally, on the right side of the watch. The side button is the one above the crown button. Again, this would be on the right side of the Google Pixel Watch.
  • Press the side button and the crown button simultaneously for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • You will see a screen with the options that include -‘Power off’, ‘Restart’, and ‘Emergency mode’. At this point, continue pressing the side button and the crown button.
  • Google Pixel Watch screen would shortly show a black screen. Eventually, the G logo for Google appears on the Google Pixel watch screen. When the G logo comes on the screen, the watch should boot up normally.

The manual reboot of the Pixel watch may be required if you are unable to swipe the watch screen. The watch is not able to respond to any actions that you undertake on the watch.

The video below is a short video that captures the process of manually forcing a restart of the Google Pixel watch using the side button and the crown button.

If you continue to face issues after forcing a restart on the Pixel Watch, it may be worth checking if your Google Pixel watch has the latest firmware.

You must be always running the latest firmware version on the Google Pixel Watch. If the firmware is updated, then we suggest talking to Google about the non-responsive Pixel Watch.

It is possible that the Pixel watch may be having some issues that could be looked into by the Pixel Watch support team. The standard warranty terms would ensure that Google support will be able to look into the frozen Google Pixel watch and come back with the findings.

Generally speaking, unless there is a hardware issue, a force reboot of the Pixel watch helps tide over unresponsive or frozen watch issues for the Pixel watch.
